Recent Work at a Storage Facility in Hiram, GA including Asphalt Sealcoating, Parking Lot Striping and Asphalt Repair. Why does asphalt sealcoating work?
Sealcoating blocks ultraviolet radiation. The sun emits a type of radiation called UV rays. You probably know that UV rays can age your skin and fade the upholstery in your car (among other things), but you might not realize that it can also damage your asphalt pavement. It will fade the color, and it will also dry out the asphalt and make it brittle. Sealcoating blocks a high percentage of UV rays to protect both the color and composition of your pavement. In addition, if the pavement has already begun to fade, asphalt sealcoating can restore much of the color that has been lost.
Sealcoating also protects against automotive leaks. Cars and trucks rely on a variety of fluids, including coolant, transmission fluid, oil and gasoline, which can leak onto your pavement. Automotive fluids cause asphalt to deteriorate at an accelerated rate. Sealcoating makes it difficult or impossible for these fluids to reach the asphalt. It also makes it easier for you to clean these types of stains, which lets you keep your pavement looking more attractive.
